It is common sense that moving blankets will gather foreign matters from the multitude of moves from the past. Pads are draped over most all pieces of furniture. Couches and chairs are covered with moving pads where people sit their butts, sweat, and lay when sick. 

Make sure to ask if the pads are in good condition and sanitized. How often are moving pads sanitized or washed? What is the condition of the pads? If you are not satisfied with the moving pads, you can purchase moving blankets and have the moving company use those instead.
